Witton Gilbert Primary School

Sports Premium

What is Sport Premium?

Sport Premium is an amount of money which the government has agreed to allocate to schools. The funding amount schools receive is based upon the number of children of primary age the school has. The sport premium is to be used to increase the quality and breadth of PE and Sport provision, and increase participation in PE & Sport.

At Witton Gilbert Primary School, we strive to promote healthy and active lifestyles and aim to provide sporting opportunities for all our pupils.

With the Sports Premium we have made additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we offer over the years. We have developed our sport activities and made improvements that will benefit future pupils. Qualified sports coaches have worked with our staff to help us teach PE and sport more effectively now and in the future. We have regular competitions for each year group with other schools and we have the correct equipment so that we are prepared for a variety of different sports and activities.
