Welcome to the new Witton Gilbert Primary School website!
Keep up-to-date with Coronavirus updates, advice and guidance.

Welcome

Welcome to Witton Gilbert Primary School website.

Witton Gilbert Primary School is a popular, successful and inclusive school at the heart of a well- established community, situated on the fringe of Durham in the north of the county.

We offer a stimulating, happy and nurturing environment where children can thrive, learn and achieve. We are proud of the respectful attitudes and relationships between all members of our school community and we value close partnerships between home and school. We are committed to ensuring every child receives a high standard of education, through focused learning activities and the provision of creative and wide ranging experiences.  We have a rich and exciting curriculum that is supplemented by visits and visitors that promote enthusiasm for learning.  At Witton Gilbert Primary School we also value the importance of nature and play in children’s development.  Play and lunchtimes are well resourced with a range of objects, dressing up clothes and scrap materials so that  children can fire up their imaginations, be creative and develop problem solving, team work and resilience – whilst having lots of fun!

I hope you enjoy exploring our website. If you are unable to find the information you need, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to help.

Kind regards
Mrs P Nelson (Head Teacher)

Covid 19 Update

In these exceptional circumstances due to Coronavirus guidance, our teachers are supporting home-learning through Classdojo. Resources are shared regularly by the class teacher. This is a really strong way of keeping our learning up to date and staying connected with our school community.

Parents and children are able to post messages, photos and videos back to their class teacher and send messages or questions directly too. Our class community updates continue to be available through Classdojo so get involved. If you have any difficulties accessing Classdojo, please contact the school office for further support. Please check our website for updates.
