At Witton Gilbert Primary School the dinners are made freshly every day on site by our kitchen staff, they are tasty and aim to provide a healthy balanced diet for our pupils. School lunch is taken by the vast majority of our pupils. A choice of main course and desserts is available each day, menus are sent home on a regular basis and together with parents, children choose their meals in advance. This guarantees that children get their first meal of choice. To help children recall their choice for each day there is a coloured band system in place which helps the staff in the server know which meal each pupil requires.

From September, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to receive a free school meal. For children in Key Stage 2, the cost is £2.81 a day, payable in advance.
