Witton Gilbert Primary School

School Uniform

We expect all children to wear school uniform. We feel that our school uniform encourages a sense of pride and belonging and promotes a positive and unified image of the school. We ask parents to support us in ensuring their children wear our uniform. This consists of:

  • black or grey skirt/trousers (no leggings)
  • royal blue sweatshirt/jumper/cardigan
  • blue polo shirt
  • black sensible shoes
  • black plimsolls /a change of trainers for PE (staff will advise further in each year group)
  • Appropriate hair style/colour/cut – shaved designs are not acceptable.

Children also need a change of clothes for their P.E. lessons. When children join our school, they are grouped into red, blue, yellow or green house and they should wear a t-shirt that matches their house colour. It is possible to buy a P.E. Kit from school consisting of black shorts, a coloured t-shirt of the team they are in and a bag – all of which have the school logo on. Please contact Mrs Lofthouse in the school office to do so.

As we are an OPAL school we also ask that children bring in a pair of wellington boots (with their name clearly marked in each boot please) as we use our forest school area and school field all year round.

Sweatshirts and polo shirts bearing the school logo are available on order from the school. Order forms are sent to all parents before a child starts at the school, and at times throughout the year or you can download a Uniform Order Form below:
